Not the usual subject for one of our livery designs or in-line with our usual clientele but once we received a call from Chris Ambler of Force Horizon and he explained the challenge that he and fellow rower Kip Wells were going to embark on and the cause they were supporting, we were on board (excuse the pun!).
Once Chris described the style they were aiming for and a colour palette to work from we began with modelling the entire boat in 3D from dimensions supplied by the manufacturer of the boat Rannoch Adventure.
We use the 3D model for our livery designs to obtain the highest accuracy possible for the design so that the finished vehicle is as close as possible to the completed design visuals. It also enables the production of high-quality visuals to aid our clients visualisation of the livery during the design and development phase.

Completed 3D model of the Rannoch R25 Worlds Toughest Row boat

The completed design shown below is a combination of blue camo print along with fluorescent red/orange to help them stand-out in the expanse of the Atlantic. Space was left on the hull and body for team to add additional partner/sponsors and the names of the signed-up members of their 250Club.
Once the design was finalised, a full batch of photo-realistic visuals (as shown) were prepared, the livery files compiled and delivered to their chosen vinyl company that we helped source for production and application.

Because of the way we create our liveries in 3D and export our designs, a system we have developed and mastered over the past 20+ years, the design was a perfect fit enabling separate vinyl panels to be be applied, with the confidence of repeatable and perfect alignment.
THE CHALLENGE
Team Force Horizon will be pushing their body, mind and soul to the absolute limits in one of the worlds hardest physical endurance challenges. The “Worlds Toughest Row” spans 3000 miles from La Gomera to Antigua and can take up to 50 days to complete. A gruelling routine of 2 hours on 2 hours off, burning up to 6,000 calories a day and operating in the unforgiving Atlantic environment, are just a few of the tests they will face.
THE CAUSE
The Jon Egging Trust  (JET) supports vulnerable young people to get back on track and realise their potential.  JET is an early intervention charity, stepping in to support youngsters aged 7-16 whose life- challenges and low self-esteem puts them at  heightened  risk  of  dropping out of education. JET's unique, long-term Blue Skies programmes empower students to develop vital workplace competencies including teamwork, leadership, communication and resilience.
