Hungarian rallycross driver Trepak Andor approached us following the Hungarian round of the World Rallycross Championship after he saw the ex-GCK Motorsport Renault Megane RS RX was competing with driver Janko Wieszt with a livery that we had created.
Andor wanted a design with a similar dark grungy/tattooesque base but with plenty of neon pink and green as those were the colours he used on his existing design. Additionally, some gold elements were to be added as well as some reference to cards and poker.
The completed livery is a mutli-layered design, made up of a dark base with the tattoo style grungy elements, with a disruptive neon pink and green design over-layed. It was designed to be printed in a single pass with only the addition of the gold elements as separate files.
We added the gold eyes to make it look aggressive in the mirrors of his rivals as he makes his racing moves.
During the design and development stage, photo-realistic 3D visuals were produced to help with Andors visualisation of the livery for sign-off. Once the design was completed, a full batch of photo-realistic visuals (as shown) were prepared, the livery files compiled and delivered to his chosen vinyl company.
The design for each panel was exported individually so that separate vinyl pieces could be readied for application and repair application following each event, Especially important in a contact sport such as rallycross.
Because of the way we design in 3D and export our designs, a system we have developed and mastered over the past 20 years, the design was a perfect fit enabling separate vinyl panels to be be applied, with the confidence of repeatable and perfect alignment.
