Using some reference photos from Reims race circuit, we first designed the main backdrop of the stand to mimic the brick garages on the main straight. Some photographs from Tolman's facilities were taken, turned black and white and an E-type Jaguar and Lotus Elite were photoshopped in to them to give the impression of cars parked up in the garages.
Taking inspiration from Goodwood, the central TV screen backdrop was given a historic race position board look with the partner logos down each side. The upper section was designed to mimic the clock and race control tower.
The whole stand was modelled at 1:1 scale, not only to visualise the design but to verify car positions, position assets such as the oil drums and directors chairs and to check for available space and visitor movement.
