For 2023 and 2024 GCK Motorsport and Guerlain Chicherit will be fielding a Prodrive Hunter T1+ on the world-famous and gruelling Dakar running on high-potential biofuel.
The design brief from Guerlain and the team was to create a 'Mad Max' livery in a post-apocalyptic style.
The livery was to be created in our 3D environment so firstly, from supplied orthographic CAD views of the car, a fully detailed and accurate car was modelled in 3D. Once the car was created, the livery design process began.
Each area of the car was painstakingly hand-painted electronically to create the rust, dirt and repair panels giving the final appearance you see here. During the design process, multiple studio visuals were created for comments and final approval from the team.
With each area of the livery designed at 1:1 scale, file sizes per panel sometimes exceeded 1GB in size! A small price to pay for a livery fit for a film set.
Once the full livery design was approved a selection of photo-realistic environment visuals were created for marketing and promotional usage.
