We were approached for this commission by TC America racing driver Adam Gleason. Adam had just been caught up in another drivers racing accident at one of the previous rounds of the championship and so the re-livery opportunity arose as the car required some rebuilding.
The final round of the championship was at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway so  his idea was for a Days of Thunder tribute livery based on the Mello Yello sponsored car driven by Tom Cruise towards the end of the film.
Our job was to recreate this livery previously on a large Nascar on to the BMW M2 CS  racecar, a much smaller vehicle.

All the current sponsors were to be transfered over. The title sponsor Megawatt really got in to the concept, allowing us to redesign their corporate branding to match the Mello  Yello branding on the original Nascar, replacing Mello Yello with Megawatt and the sun with the Bitcoin logo. A redesign of a sponsors brand for promotional purposes is rarely done, so this commission became especially exciting.
Several versions of the design were created and a final design concept was worked on until approval was given. Finally the production files were created and sent to the teams vinyl company for application along with a selection of 3D visuals for guidance and a PDF production guide.
The new Megawatt one-off brand was also exported for use on clothing and promotional items for the race weekend.
